Their website explains
We ensure that we handhold the most vulnerable householders through all their energy needs and aim to empower others to make ongoing decisions that will provide better health and economic outcomes for residents of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Coventry, Solihull and surrounding areas. Although these are our focus areas for advice and physical interventions and we are not a national organisation, you are free to use the information on our website, wherever you are.
Our work covers a wide range of services from energy bill advice, fuel Switching, referrals for physical measures, grant availability and onwards referrals to other agencies if appropriate.
We can also conduct home visits to give householders personalised advice; attend local exhibitions and events to promote energy efficiency; develop school projects that involve the whole community; develop and carry out local schemes for rural and urban communities and local businesses; we also carry out home energy surveys, providing Energy Performance Certificates or using a thermal imaging camera to identify areas of your property which have a high heat loss.
Our funders include national, regional and local authorities as well as charities; health professionals and partners within the energy sector. We work with a number of organisations and provide a range of services such as advice, consultancy, conferencing and training in order to support people in our local communities and to meet their needs of affordable warmth and energy.
Our office is staffed from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. If you would like us to call you back, feel free to leave a message on our answering machine.
Act on Energy evolved from Warwickshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (WEEAC), established in 1998 by Stratford on Avon District Council. They became independent of the Council in 1999 and celebrated their ten year anniversary in 2008 by rebranding the charity as Act on Energy.
