Average Temperature More than 29C for 1/3 of People in Next 50 Years
The Earth will certainly get warmer during the next 50 years, and only question is by how much.
A recent study has shown [1] that if it warms by an average of 3C then more than 3 billion people will live in areas with an average temperatures greater than 29C. Such temperatures are currently only found in deserts, mostly the Sahara.
The people who will be most affected are currently among the world’s poorest, without the resources to adapt to such dramatic change. Unless they are given help by the world’s wealthy nations the consequence will be either death or migration on a massive scale.
Migration from Africa into Europe might then increase far beyond anything known so far.
