This comment by Tony McNally refers to the climate change debate by Coventry City Council.

The climate emergency was not about 2050 targets rather the imperative to contain emissions by 2030 to avert tipping over the 1.5 degrees. Which requires a 50% reduction globally on the level of 2018.

At no point has the council identified publically the current level of emissions compared to 2012 and from what source even though they have to submit them nationally by law.
