The National Lottery has opened the first round of bids for a Climate Action Fund amounting to £100 million over 10 years.
Initial ideas must be submitted by 5pm Wednesday 18 December 2019.
Urgent action is required if Coventry is to form a partnership and develop an idea for a bid. Bids must show they have developed the idea by involving the people who will benefit.
On Friday 29 November there will be a meeting in Coventry Council House organised by the United Nations Association Coventry Branch working with Coventry Climate Action Network to discuss bidding and brainstorm ideas for a project.
All environmental groups, community leaders, politicians (local and national), businesses, schools, universities, religious groups and anyone else who wants to join in the bid are welcome.

There is a summary of the requirements for a bid here. Full details on the National Lottery Climate Action Fund page.
Note that Coventry City Council will be running a workshop on the Climate Action Fund on 4 November in Coventry Council House.
Details about the Council’s meeting here.
If you know anyone else who might be interested in suggesting ideas and perhaps joining the partnership, please let them know about these events.
