On Sunday 25 April 2021, Peace Child International and Buntingford Action for Climate Change and Sustainability invite you to a star-studded discussion on the climate emergency with experts from around the world coming together to discuss, in Citizens’ Assembly format, the question:
What Priority Actions must we seek from the Climate Summit in Glasgow this November?
They have chosen to focus on the “Economic Drivers” (Carbon pricing etc.) that many feel must be introduced to solve the climate crisis. The approach is neatly summarised in the widely-praised US economists’ Carbon Dividends plan.
Expert Witnesses will include: Paul Ekins (UCL, UK); Nicolas Berghmans (IDDRI, France); Elizabeth May(Green Party, Canada); Idman Abdurahaman (Climate Justice Activist, UK); Ravi Theja Muthu (Eco-entrepreneur, India) and Ivan Zassoursky (Moscow State University, Russia). Ella Faye Donley, actress and climate activist from the UK, is our Host.
Citizens’ Assemblies are an increasingly popular form of public discourse – and, in this short-form, model format, you’ll learn why: they’re fun and informative and, whether you join as a member of the audience, or the demographically-balanced “Jury”, you get to ask global experts everything you ever wanted to know about the climate emergency. And you get to listen, learn, deliberate and decide, with your local and global family, what to do about this, perhaps the most serious existential threat facing us all – especially our children and grand-children.
Please Register NOW. They are looking forward to seeing you there.
