At the first Great Big Green Week , held in 2021, over 5000 events celebrated how UK communities are taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encouraged others to get involved too. It was the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK.

Resources for schools include packs for primary and secondary schools.

Great Big Green Week Community Fund

This supports community groups to organise local events, activities and festivals during the Great Big Green Week 2022. These should engage the local community and celebrate action and progress being made on climate change.

Three sizes of grants are available:

• Small Grant: £200 to £500
• Medium Grant: £500 to £5,000
• Large Grant: £5,000 to £10,000
