Help Warwickshire Shape Future of Walking and Cycling
In 2017 the Government published its first Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy setting out the Government’s ambition to make walking and cycling the natural choices for shorter journeys or as part of a longer journey.
Warwickshire County Council now invites local organisations to help shape the future development of walking and cycling. They want to identify locations where new or improved facilities are needed to make it easier and safer to travel on foot and by bicycle.
Feedback and suggestions should be submitted on the interactive map by Friday 9th July 2021.
They also want organisations to promote the map to local networks and community contacts by sharing links on social media and including details in any local newsletters, meetings and discussions
This information will be used to develop a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, which is part of Warwickshire County Council’s wider commitment to addressing the climate emergency, reducing the impacts of motor traffic on our towns and villages, and improving health and wellbeing.
They welcome ideas to overcome barriers to walking and cycling, and ways to make everyday journeys easier for a wide range of users, such as new crossings, wider paths or segregated cycle routes.
They also want ideas about pedestrian and cycle facilities which might work well.
