Ryton Organic Gardens is the UK’s national charity promoting organic growing.
The charity brings together thousands of people who share a common belief – that organic growing is essential for a healthy and sustainable world.
Through campaigning, advice, community work and research, its aim is to get everyone growing ‘the organic way’.
Visitors can see food growing organically, take part in education programmes, learn about the health benefits of gardening and the principles and practices of organic growing. They also run the Heritage Seed Library which aims to conserve vegetable varieties that are not widely available. Some seeds are available for sale and once they have enough seed, all seeds in the collection will become available for members.
