Scottish 2050 Climate Group
Engage, educate and empower Scotland’s young people to take action on climate change.
We are a youth run and primarily volunteer-led organisation with a team of over 60 volunteers based across Scotland. Our committed Board focuses on the strategic aims of the organisation while developing new, exciting opportunities (like Malawi’s Climate Leaders project). Our operational team members run the day to day outputs of the organisation including the Young Leaders Development Programme and our dedicated staff oversee all our efforts.

Young Leaders Development Programme (YLDP)
The Young Leaders Development Programme is an award winning skills development opportunity for young people in Scotland. Now in its third year, the programme focuses on providing climate change knowledge and leadership skills to Scotland’s young people, aged 18-35. Over the course of a year, participants attend 6 modules covering topics in personal, professional and political spheres and work together to design, manage and run projects which seek to make positive differences in society.
Leaders Network
The Leaders Network is a network for YLDP alumni as well as 2050 Climate Group volunteers and board members. The network provides opportunities for members to connect with one another and keep in touch. Activities are held throughout Scotland on a regular basis and provide members with opportunities to socialise, network, exchange knowledge and information and seek out further personal development.
Influencing Policy
One of our aims is to ensure young people are represented and engaged in policies which affect the environment and our future. We help to facilitate discussions with young people and government officials and coordinate consultation responses to the Scottish Government. In November 2018, we were invited to present evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Environment Climate Change and Land Reform Committee, an exciting first achievement for the organisation!
