The United Nations Association Coventry Branch is run by a small team of volunteers who want to inform the public about world problems and how the United Nations (UN) is trying to help fix them. They do this by organising websites and running projects.

They are affiliated to the United Nations Association UK (UNA-UK) but please note they are not part of the United Nations.

Their activities cover all four “pillars” of the UN:

Peace & Security
Human Rights
Justice & International Law
Sustainable Development

Climate change has an impact on several of these topics. It can force people to leave their homes as their crops and animals die. They migrate within their own country or into another country and so create human rights problem such as lack of housing, food, education and so on.

Climate change can also create tension and even wars between countries as they try to resist such migration and capture land which is still fertile.

Climate Action is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
