Following accusations of denying the scientific consensus that a massive cut-back on fossil fuels is needed to prevent devastating climate impacts, the President of COP28, Sultan Al Jaber who is also head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, took part in a press conference with the chief of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on 4 December.
