Energy Storage facility proposed near Burton Green
Coventry Energy Storage Limited (CES) is proposing a new energy storage facility located off Hodgetts Lane to the northwest of Burton Green as shown in the maps below. The energy storage facility will effectively serve to extend the existing electricity grid, with enough energy to power 140,000 homes for 2 hours.
The initial proposals for this project to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council were unfortunately refused earlier this year without being heard by the elected members of the Planning Committee. CES are keen to ensure that this does not happen again. They invite readers to write a short comment in favour of the proposals. CES would be grateful to hear the views of readers so that they can demonstrate the need for these facilities to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
The easiest way to register your support is by emailing the Council’s planning department at planning@solihull.gov.uk using the subject line Support for planning application PL/2024/01261/PPFL.
Alternatively, the planning application can be viewed here or through the Council’s planning portal by using the reference PL/2024/01261/PPFL where comments can be made directly.
