How can we make Coventry into a ‘Cycle City’ to rival Amsterdam or Copenhagen?
In our recently launched manifesto, ‘Ten Proposals for a Green Reset in Coventry’, we urged Coventry City Council to use the opportunity provided by the coronavirus lockdown and newly available Government funding to put together an ambitious, coherent plan for a connected active travel system in the city.
In this Q&A, we will hear from our new Bicycle Mayor Adam Tranter on his ideas for encouraging active travel in Coventry after lockdown, and from the Council’s Head of Transport, John Seddon on the Council’s post-lockdown transport plans, as well as briefly about the current Coundon Cycleway consultation.
After a very brief introduction by Coventry Green New Deal’s Chair, David Ridley, we will hear from these two speakers for approximately 10 minutes each, with an opportunity for participants to submit questions via the text function.
The last half of the event will take the form of a Q&A, chaired by Coventry GND. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet our new Bicycle Mayor, hear about the Council’s post-lockdown active travel plans, and to raise any questions you have.
