Date(s) - 27/05/2021 - 30/05/2021
Are you a woman inspired by the natural world, hoping to make change in your community and the wider world?
Are you concerned about climate breakdown, racial, social and health injustice?
Would you like to learn more about performing, writing, making or creating in general?
If so, Coventry UK City of Culture invites you to a non-residential camp for women from 27 to 30 May 2021. Four artist change-makers would love to meet you!
Anne-Marie, Lucy, Ruth and Shelley will be hosting this four-day training camp for people who identify as women age 16+ in the Coventry area. You’ll be part of a cross generational group exploring ways of living that are grounded in care, respect, co-operation and action.
The Camp will take place mostly outdoors. We will be sharing stories and ideas for actions, learning about tree planting and care, exploring the role of craft in activism, learning about our Earth’s Rights and the links between social and environmental justice. We will be hearing from other people who are standing up for the Earth from around the world.
On June 5th or 6th we will carry out a public action in Coventry created from ideas developed during the Camp. Then in the Autumn there is a possibility of working together again to create a performance action in Coventry and taking this to the COP26 (Conference of Parties) Climate Talks in Glasgow in November 2021.
