Ideas Wanted for Improve Cycling in Coventry
On 9 March the UK Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps , announced that pop-up bike lanes with protected space for cycling, wider pavements, safer junctions, and cycle and bus-only corridors will be created in England within weeks as part of a £250 million emergency active travel fund. This will be the first stage of a £2 billion investment, as part of the £5 billion in new funding announced for cycling and buses in February.
Ideas Wanted
Officers from Coventry City Council are currently looking at temporary routes to encourage more cycling in the city. They have asked Coventry’s Bicycle Mayor, Adam Tranter, to put forward ideas for temporary measures that would make a difference and be well used by cyclists.
Please send your ideas to adam@adamtranter.com.
