Wanted: Ideas for Coventry’s Bid for National Lottery Climate Action Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund has launched a new £100 million Climate Action Fund to help people and communities take the lead in tackling climate change. As part of Coventry’s city-wide approach to tackling climate change and developing a clear plan for our local environment, the city is keen to build a network of people and communities to drive change. They want to work with others to develop a joint bid for funding for Coventry. Find out more about the fund. Note that initial ideas must be submitted by 5pm Wednesday 18 December 2019.
If they are successful the city hopes it will be able to make real changes in communities. This could include improvements in sustainable energy and transport, protection and regeneration of spaces and habitats, consumption and waste. Working together will help them to understand what we can do jointly as well as helping to ensure the bid stands the best chance of being successful.
The fund will support community led local partnerships that will drive change not only within but also beyond their communities to:
- Reduce their carbon footprint sustainably
- Increase participation in community led climate action
