Big Plastic Count 16-22 May
The Big Plastic Count launched! It’s the biggest ever investigation into household waste, done by everyday people like me and you. To push the government and supermarkets to fix their plastic problem.
All you have to do is count the plastic you use for a week in May. Are you up for the challenge?
We all do our bit to recycle, but somehow, it’s still everywhere! The amount of plastic produced around the world is even set to double in the next 20 years. Recycling alone isn’t going to solve this problem – big companies are producing too much in the first place and our recycling systems can’t cope.
But right now, nobody really knows how much plastic we’re throwing away or what happens to it once it leaves our homes… enter The Big Plastic Count 😉
Greenpeace has partnered with Everyday Plastic to launch this nationwide investigation into household plastic waste, where we’ll uncover the true scale of the plastic problem. Together with your help, we’re going to gather the evidence we need to demand the government, big brands and supermarkets get on with making some big changes.
Big companies are creating the problem. This is our chance to do something simple and practical to force them to do better. Are you up for it?
