Warwick District UN Association will host a Zoom presentation by Mr Paul Twiney who will give an update on Greenpeace UK’s ocean conservation campaigns and a view on Government progress (or lack of!).
Paul Twiney is a volunteer speaker at Greenpeace UK. He will explain the focus of the three major ocean campaigns Greenpeace is pursuing at the moment around:
1. Protect our Oceans – creating a global ocean sanctuary
2. Deep Sea Mining – why we need to stop it
3. Supertrawlers – protecting our Marine Protected areas (MPAs)
He will then explore the UK Government’s position and progress made in these areas.
Paul has been an environmental supporter and campaigner for 25 years. He has seen first hand the tragic impact we are making on our natural world, especially in the Oceans, where his passion for scuba means he has seen the bleaching of corals and the breakdown of crucial marine ecosystems.
In his work, Paul is co-founder and director of BiG Innovation, a change consultancy which helps companies to design and deliver significant change programmes. He is also the founder of The Uncarbon Group, an organisation aiming to accelerate the decarbonisation agenda.
