Will you be part of raising a collective voice for climate, racial and social justice?
The Walking Forest team at City of Culture invite Coventry & Warwickshire Women inspired by nature to be part of Walking Forest Coventry – a street-based, city-wide mobile performance happening from dawn to dusk on the 15th and 16th October 2021 created with local women.
Will you stand up for Nature in Coventry?
They invite you to carry a felled tree as it moves through the streets of Coventry – an act of endurance and love for the planet and future generations. Planting seeds of courage across the city as we move.
Be part of a unique experience. Find your voice.
There are many ways to join in:
Walking Forest walker and Tree Carrier – This is an act of endurance, love and ceremony and there will be many breaks and stops along the walk. We all have different voices, physical abilities and stamina and this will be taken into account as we carry the tree together. This is an inclusive engagement opportunity where we will work as a group. Care for ourselves and valuing each other’s contributions will be at the heart of this event.
Walking Forest Steward – This is an important role, supporting the Walk and all activities that happen under it and talking to and engaging with passers-by and handing out information.
Walking Forest Wellbeing Volunteer – A practical and caring role including welfare of participants, making and mending props and costumes and other tasks to keep everybody nourished .
Walking Forest Witness – Just come along on the day to watch, witness or walk for some of the route. Leave your details we will send info of route and and just come along on the day
